“An epic roller coaster of emotions, cinematic dark interludes, moments of serenity punctuated with sonic Armageddon. A brave, intelligent, refreshingly different collection of songs”.
The Battery farm unleash “Dirty Den's March of Suffering” on October 15th on blindside records, with a sold out EP launch at Gullivers Manchester on 16th Oct.
“An epic cauldron and roller coaster of emotions, this records blends perfectly, cinematic dark interludes, that intrigue, yet leave you in awe, and lull you into a false sense of serenity ahead of the sonic Armageddon that is to come. A brave, intelligent, refreshingly different collection of songs. This is more than just a furious beautiful noise, we listened to the record on repeat last night in a darkened room. The music and the lyrics throw out their own brilliant light. In today’s streaming disposable digital music world, with short attention spans, this is a record that deserves to be listed to from front to back. A throw back to the days when you rushed out to buy your favourite bands new album, took it home, locked your bedroom door and played it on repeat until you had devoured every note and word.
Dirty Den's March of Suffering is such a record. Words are pointed, satirical, observational, with vocals that range from full on fury, speed, noise, and rage that the battery farm are known for, to bitter sweet, melancholic shades of beauty. It’s a brave an ingenious collection of songs and shows a band that is not afraid to be different and who carve out their own unique blend of gutter snipe, furious intelligent punk.
“The Battery Farm deliver a new rallying call for furious intelligent punk music that sees them firmly established as a the stand out band in the alternative Manchester music scene right now”.

The Tracks
(Don Brennan's Lemant) 01:05
“A cinematic interlude that and lull you into a false sense of serenity ahead of the sonic Armageddon that is to come”.
When The Whip Goes Crack 03:20
“ A twisted Tarantino like soundtrack intro explodes to a crushing melee of beautiful noise”. This is so much more than a powerful angry noise. The song opens with a tribal drum pattern, jangling guitar, mocking , snarling at times falsetto vocal, sets you up for the storm to be unleashed.
The lyrics and anger are palpable, yet intelligently controlled for maximum impact. Some stand out lines for us ; “You have been swallowed whole in a goldfish bowl, like everyone you ever knew”, "When the whip goes crack on your bleeding back” “it won’t be over soon”, the song builds, a mocking, ferocious anger propels it to it spine crushing, mind blowing finale, “Nothing ever bothers you, nothing ever bothers you “nothing ever brothers you, “while your ghosts gets laid in an empty grave and your lips remain sealed” – “It won’t be over soon” ?
I've Never Been To Gorton 02:20
“A riotous almost Britpop parody”. This is a complete surprise, its as though blur and pulp came from Moston, and instead of being Essex boys were working class mancunian boys with attitude, loud guitars, and punk sensibility. The battery farm showing they are not afraid to be different.
( Sunita's Last Gasp ) 00:48
“An Ennio Morricone industrial vibe, high noon in a gothic style, sets you up for the mayhem to follow”.
Drowning In The Black 03:40
“A dark stain on your sonic conscience that erupts in a cacophony of twisted black noise” – This track show a real adventurous spirit, the guitars are sublime, cutting, brutal, explosive, the voice, ,dark and deep then full-on battery farm. A gothic twist to gutter snipe punk.
Roy Keane Isn’t Real 02:10 * (Our fave track)
“A whirling dervish of a tune, Armageddon with guitars and drums, a pointed, satirical attack on conspiracy theorists and todays twisted media”.
The song opens with a blistering driving pounding bass, superbly bathed in a barrage of on point drums and savage ferocious guitars. This is intelligent loud, masterful punk music at its very best. Roy Keane isn’t real, like the man himself, this tune, is crunching, uncompromising honest and takes no prisoners.
In 1981 I saw the Dead Kennedys play some of their first UK shows, that music was furious, loud, observational, intelligent and above all energetic, angry, and furious. The Battery farm remind me very much of those times and that energy, they capture perfectly all the elements of the best punk music. They have their own twist on gutter snipe punk and bring it kicking and screaming into the 21st century. The Battery Farm deliver a new rallying call for furious punk music. I am sure Roy Kean would approve ??
( Michael Rodwell Dies Alone) 01:05
“Echoes of a forgotten man, a lost love, a closed down cinema, an empty club, a childhood memory, a seaside town that was closed down. A cold stark lament for something lost, that leads perfectly into the closing track.
We're At The Top 03:31
“A cold stark lament for something lost soulful, heartfelt the battery farm demonstrate they have more than noise and anger in their armoury of songs”. Its one of those songs where you paint your own picture from the words, don’t listen to me, buy this album, stream it better still buy the vinyl and play it to death. Its worth of every minute of your attention.

About the Battery Farm
A Gutter Punk four-piece from Manchester playing punishing, pulverising rock music brimming with pain and passion. The Battery Farm was formed in March 2019 by brothers Ben and Dominic Corry. It was formed as a cry of despair; a terrified and furious response to a world that rapidly seems to be going wrong. This is reflected in the sound of the band which is frantic, visceral and violent but also laced with beauty and melody. Our sound has been compared to bands like PIL, Fugazi and Pere Ubu while maintaining something thrillingly real, original, and human. They write about themselves and the world they see around them with guttural honesty and searing compassion.
